Tchaikovsky
A new performance for the Pilsen ballet ensemble tells the story of the brilliant composer’s complicated life, in which the moments of happiness and fame alternate with pain and desire for love. Choreographer, director and former head of the ballet ensemble at the Mainfranken Theater in Würzburg, Bavaria, and now the head of the ballet ensemble in Baden, Austria, Anna Vita, whose The House of Bernarda Alba enriched the repertoire of the J.K. Tyl Theatre’s ballet ensemble in 2019, presents the life journeys and crossroads of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky with a great knowledge of his works. The dance parts, with the music of the famous Romantic composer, are full of deep experiences of fame, pain and unattainability of a life full of love. This new performance of the Pilsen ballet ensemble depicts the complicated life of the genius and creator of Romantic music, who has become famous for – besides many successful operas – three of his ballets: Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker. Moreover, the year 2023 marks the 130th anniversary of his death, so this performance is a tribute to him.
