Consent

“Is there anything behind which there is no sex?” Boris Pasternak’s grand niece, Nina Raine, wrote a brilliant story of a merciless fight of love, betrayal and justice, before “Me Too” came about. The private area of attorneys fighting each other reveals the power of the word that rules the world. “Yes means yes. No means no. Doesn’t it?” While the masters of arguments are confident about their battles without emotions, they are, paradoxically, defeated in their own personal relationships and complicated love lives. The raping of a woman that nobody cares about triggers the disclosure of their own personal family conflicts. Who is right, who is guilty, who is taking revenge and who is a victim: In this captivating relationship drama, the audience becomes the judge and the jury. Will justice yield to the person who can provide the most convincing argument?

ABOUT THE EVENT

“Is there anything behind which there is no sex?”

Boris Pasternak’s grand niece, Nina Raine, wrote a brilliant story of a merciless fight of love, betrayal and justice, before “Me Too” came about.

Nina Raine managed to create a masterful modern classic. The 2017 world premiere of her play Consent at the Royal National Theatre in London and her transatlantic hit, Tribes, catapulted her to the first league of British playwrights.
