The Liberec director Martin Tichý, together with the playwright Tomáš Syrovátka, already created a number of successful productions at the Naive Theatre Liberec. Among them, a pair of sport-themed fairy tales stand out: A Tale about Raška and A Fairy Tale about the LIAZ Truck. Now, the third instalment of this unofficial series based on real sporting events (not only) from the region has been added. ABOUT
The Liberec director Martin Tichý, together with the playwright Tomáš Syrovátka, already created a number of successful productions at the Naive Theatre Liberec. Among them, a pair of sport-themed fairy tales stand out: A Tale about Raška and A Fairy Tale about the LIAZ Truck. Now, the third instalment of this unofficial series based on real sporting events (not only) from the region has been added. The famous long-distance ski race Jizerská 50 offers many themes: determination and perseverance, friendship and rivalry, modesty and competitiveness... All these are included in the story of a trio of amateur skiers who take part in the race side by side. Their performance aspires to be at least close to the multiple champion, Standa Sekáč, who is also fighting for the podium this year.
Through this non-verbal buffoonery with sports commentary, children and adult audience also learns many interesting facts about the history and course of the legendary race.
